Sally Ann Ranney

Sally Ann Ranney is a businesswoman, environmental strategist, activist, visionary, and naturalist, working in the public and private sectors.
She is President/Co-Founder of Global Choices, the President/Co-Founder of American Renewable Energy Institute (AREI) and AREDAY Summit, and CEO of Stillwater Preservation, LLC, a wetlands mitigation banking company. She is Vice President of Colorado Headwaters, on the Board of Directors of the National Wildlife Federation, the Bonobo Conservation Initiative (DRC Congo) the Climate Accountability Institute. An Advisor to the Getches-Wilkinson Center at Colorado University Law Center, she is also Senior Advisor to the One Humanity Institute (Poland), and to WECAN – Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network. Sally is an Emeritus Trustee of the Grand Canyon Trust.
Ms. Ranney has worked with three US Presidents, including Presidents Carter, Clinton and his transition team, as well as served on the Presidential Commission on American Outdoors, an appointment by President Reagan. She served as a Patron of Nature for IUCN (International Union of the Conservation of Nature), and on the Board of the Galmann Nature Conservancy (Kenya). Sally was a Resource Policy Analyst and Field Representative for The Wilderness Society for several years, later co -founding American Wildlands, serving as its President and orchestrating Corridors of Life, the largest GIS mapping and land management project ever undertaken by a US NGO at the time.
Sally has received numerous Recognitions and Awards - Horace Albright Award, International Conservation Award; Earth Guardians’ Earth Stewardship Award; American Riviera Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (ARWEY) Award; Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) Lifetime Achievement Award; Lighthawk Lifetime Achievement Recognition. Ranney was recently named one of thirty-five women worldwide to the international Women in Wildlife.
